The Yoga Retreat
The retreat is designed for anyone desiring to touch base with the self, practice daily yoga, meditation and Pilates, cleanse and detox while enjoying a unique and relaxing Byron Bay experience. The retreats attract a wide range of people from total beginners to more experienced practitioners.
We provide plenty of individual attention and assistance to provide extra support during classes particularly if you have any injuries or special needs. Don't worry if you cannot do a headstand! It's all about your own personal yoga and doing what is appropriate for your body and needs at the time. All classes are taught in a safe and practical way designed for all levels of experience with age, health and lifestyle fully considered.
The retreat location is only 10 minutes from Byron Bay where the beach and the bush come together on the edge of the National Park. The cabins offer single and twin share and all rooms are air-conditioned, with fully equipped kitchen, bathroom facilities and balcony in a private 30 acre sanctuary with 630 metres of beachfront, halfway between the lighthouse and Broken Head.
The yoga studio is an airy and spacious Balinese style building set amongst the trees with beautiful wooden floors. Perfect for connecting with nature and birdlife while we practice in beautiful a place.
Byron Bay Yoga Retreat Schedule
Meditation and Yoga 7am- 9am, 10.30am Pilates, free time, 1pm lunch free time till afternoon restorative practice at 4.30-6.00pm. Other activities include yoga nidra, chanting, dance nature activities, massages, healings, detox, colonic sessions on site and plenty of free time your treatments and to enjoy the beach and natural environment.
Each day we begin with a 30 min meditation then we move into a vinyasa yoga flow practice concentrating on the breath to open up the body and release toxins. Postures are linked together in a comfortable flowing sequence to create an uplifting effect on mind, body and spirit bringing a renewed sense of well being.
The afternoon practice introduces various techniques of relaxation which help to soothe and refresh the nervous system which enables us to focus on deeper levels of awareness creating balance and harmony.
Yoga Retreat Check in and check out:
Arrival time is from 2.00pm onwards to settle into your accommodation, enjoy a refreshing swim in the ocean or just relax in your hammock. Refreshments will be available then we will gather in the yoga hall at 3.30pm for an informal introduction and yoga class. Check out time on the last day is 10am from your cabin and close of retreat is 11.30am. Transport and direction details will be sent to you at time of registration.
Byron Bay Yoga Retreat Teachers
The retreat is run by Senior Qualified Yoga Instructor Sue Hawkins who has been practicing for over 25 years and is the founder and director of Byron Bay Yoga Retreats. Sue has instructed on teacher trainings, workshops and runs retreats regularly in Byron Bay, Australia and internationally.
Judy Leane is a Qualified Senior Pilates Instructor, a physiotherapist and an exercise scientist as well as a personal trainer. She has a wealth of experience and knowledge to share on the retreat. The fusion of Yoga and Pilates gives tremendous body awareness of core strength and stability.
Byron Bay Yoga Retreat Activitites:
Range from catching a breathtaking sunrise along Tallow Beach, surfing, optional kayaking, cycling on the bike trails through the rainforest, tennis or simply relaxing and soaking up the serenity of the environment. If you want even more adventure we offer a 5hr Mountain Bike day trip exploring the hinterland in Byron Bay including lunch and a swim in a waterhole to freshen up before we head back to the retreat. Cost per person is $95 (minimum 5 people).

Byron Bay Yoga Retreat Cancellation Conditions
A non-refundable deposit of $300 is required to secure your place. This
deposit will form part of your final payment which is payable 1 month
before retreat begins. Retreats can be swapped at the discretion of
Byron Bay Yoga within the year.
